New wheels

Back in 1985 a young driverchris lusted after a BMX, a Raleigh Burner would have been very heaven. When on Xmas morning I was invited to have a look in the garage you can imagine my excitement. I hope I hid my disappointment when a somewhat elderly 'racer' that I assume my dad had sourced from a mate was revealed. I hope I hid it because
  • Its good manners
  • It can't have been easy paying the bills
  • It was a much more sensible bike on reflection

Anyway, these days I can indulge my own damn retrospective fantasies aided by a bottle of red and that temptress ebay.

Ain't she pretty? What a guy!

Cheers dude...

they're not Beartrap pedals - I don't know if I'll fit Beartraps, they look the business but mash up your shins if you get a trick wrong.

I've already won some dia-compe brakes (black) and Skyways Tuffs (black) are next on the list...

When finished it'll be black'n'chrome

Hey! Stop buying stuff from eBay without using one of my affiliate links first! It's bad Karma (for you).

That looks "sick man", as my nine years old boy now tells me means "way cool".

You got me lusting after bikes I wanted when I was a kid now......

You probably shouldn't look here:

http://bmxmuseum.com/

there's a 1977 Raleigh Rampar R-5 on the site, I had totally forgotten about them, it was like a proustian rush of memories when I saw it...

All you need to do now is learn to ride a bike.
