The new
London Transport Museum will reopen on 22 November after a two year, £22 million refurbishment and redesign project. It will tell the story of the development of London, its transport systems and the people who travelled and worked on them over the last 200 years.
As well as information on the vehicles and infrastructure of the capitals public transport networks the museum features a great collection of artwork that has been commissioned over the years and some really beautiful examples of graphic design - of course including Beck's iconic underground map and Johnston's typeface.
With Christmas fast approaching (4 mins via Kensal Rise) visit the
gift shop for inspiration. I quite fancy the
mirror polished stainless steel map of London underground that easily fits in any wallet. What better way to find your way around a line or two?
