The Empire strikes arc
Needing a wee bit of fabrication doing on the Enfield I knew what kind of thing I wanted to achieve (a neat removable pillion pad) and that it would be a Royal pain in the arse trying to do it in my back yard with a limited selection of tools... a perfect opportunity to take a trip to Old Empire Motorcycles and take advantage of their generous hospitality.
What could be nicer on a glorious late summer day? Alec immediately 'got' what I was after and was even generous enough to allow me to re-live my old job fabricating metal, letting me loose with saws, grinders and pillar drills, very heaven - before sensibly doing the stuff that takes talent and skill himself. Unless you're reading this from the Insurance Company in which case I stood and watched and didn't touch anything.
